Gastroenterologist - Hepatologist
Doctor Charilaos Papafragkakis is a graduate of the University of Athens Medical School. He is fully trained in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Internal Medicine in the United States.
He trained in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy at MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas. He completed his Gastroenterology fellowship at the Brooklyn Hospital Center of the Mount Sinai Hospital, Icahn School of Medicine in New York. He trained in Hepatology at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center. He also completed Internal Medicine training at the Advocate Health System of the University of Illinois in Chicago. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
His clinical interests include colon cancer screening and endoscopic removal of polyps and precancerous lesions of the intestine and stomach, diagnosis and treatment of Barrett's esophagus, removal of bile duct stones, endoscopic management of gastrointestinal, pancreatic and biliary solid and cystic lesions with endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and ERCP, treatment of peptic ulcer disease, Helicobacter pylori infection, gastroesophageal reflux disease and irritable bowel syndrome and management of diseases of the liver.
Charilaos Papafragkakis has a substantial teaching work and is the author of numerous publications in scientific journals.
He is a consultant at the Euroclinic of Athens in Ampelokipi and at the Metropolitan General Hospital in Cholargos. He maintains his private practice in Mavili Square.
